Stream 2 of CHRF's Building Scientists for Bangladesh is called, 'Bringing People to Science', and is targeted towards high school students enrolled in grades 7-12, who are still deciding their future career trajectories.

At CHRF, we are leveraging our expertise in clinical research, diagnostics, infectious diseases surveillances, molecular biology and genomics to build intellectual capacity within Bangladesh and across the world, and create a model for capacity building and decentralization of research worldwide.

If you wish to apply for any of our laboratory training programs in stream 2, please fill up this form and select the program you are interested in the first section of the form. Further details of the selected program will be available in the next section.  

Science Explorers (for Grades 7-12): explore science at CHRF during this 3-day program and dive into the world of microbiology! The 3-day program covers a tour of the largest pediatric hospital in Bangladesh, opportunities to shadow scientists at a diagnostic laboratory and a state-of-the-art research facility and perform some fun experiments of your own!

Infectious Disease Detectives (Advanced - Grades 11 & 12) - play a 5-day lab-based investigative game at CHRF, where you will receive clues and solve the case with laboratory techniques related to microbiology and molecular biology! You will investigate a case named  'Bring justice for the child with the mysterious disease'.

Research in Biological Sciences for Beginners (Grades 11 & 12): This comprehensive 2-week program is tailored to complement high school syllabi and introduce new concepts in microbiology, molecular biology, and genomics to school students and high-school graduates. All trainees also get to perform hands-on laboratory experiments in a safe and controlled environment.

Global Health Pathways: Infectious Disease Training for International Students- this 3 to 6-week program is customised for international high school students. Participants have the opportunity to delve into hospital, community, and environmental surveillance, microbiology, molecular biology, pathogen genomics, and science communication based on their interests.

All applicants will be reached out to join a virtual introductory session (mandatory).
